Michelle Envy

I don't envy Michelle Obama her First Lady status, nor her marriage to that cool guy we call Mr. President, not even her Pennsylvania Ave. address--Neptune Beach suits me. I do, however, envy her ability to wear sleeveless dresses. Oh how I envy that! She has arms and shoulders to die for.

When I joined the ranks of senior citizens, I wasn't bothered by the mail from AARP, funeral homes, or long term health insurance companies, but when I had to retire my sleeveless outfits, that hurt. I never had Michelle Obama arms, but mine were passing fair. These days I divide my gazing time between staring at guys with nice legs and the arms of buff women in sleeveless dresses.

At first I switched to outfits with short sleeves, then three-quarter sleeves, and today I'm reduced to long sleeves. I pretend my left arm is still buff, and I'm wearing sleeves to conceal my right arm injured in an accident. I figure if I can lie about my age, I can pretend to my heart's content.

To the First Lady I say, "Enjoy that little black dress." You look fantastic in it. Enjoy those arms every minute of every day. Time really does march on.
